Jewish Apple Cake

A fall favorite

3 c unsifted flour * 2 1/2 c sugar * 1 c salad oil * 3 tsp baking powder * 4 eggs unbeaten * 2 1/2 tsp vanilla * 6 large apples, peeled and sliced thin * 1/2 tsp salt * juice of 1 orange or 6 T frozen or canned orange juice * 3 tsp cinnamon

Beat until smooth the flour, sugar, oil, eggs, salt, orange juice, vanilla, and baking powder. To the apples add 3 tsp cinnamon and 7 T sugar. Grease and flour large tube pan (10 inches) and starting with batter, layer the batter alternating with apples, finishing with batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 2 hours.
